Don’t lose your health coverage-renew today In order to keep your Healthfirst health insurance, you must renew your health plan every year during Open Enrollment. Open Enrollment ends January 31, 2017, so don’t delay!
Here’s what else you need to know about renewing your health insurance:
  • – You can still get a health insurance plan outside the Open Enrollment Period if you’ve had a major life-changing event, called a Qualifying Life Event (QLE).
    • – These events include job loss or change, marital status change, becoming pregnant, losing your insurance, and more.
    • But don’t wait. You must apply for a health insurance plan within 60 days of a Qualifying Life Event.
  • – You can renew your plan online at the NY State of Health website.
  • – If you don’t have health insurance coverage, you may be charged a penalty on your tax return.*
